Since August 2020, Beach Boys Club has expanded from a small cabal of enthusiasts to an expansive global network of Beach Boys fans, admirers, and experts. The core mission—listen to all 27 of the Beach Boys studio albums, plus scattered bootlegs and solo projects—has yet to be finished, but the second volume of the Beach Boys Club Compilation Series is a singular accomplishment.

“Beach Boys Club Vol. 2: Aren't You Glad (Covers from the Smile to Holland era)” features 34 spirited renditions of songs from the Beach Boys’ post-Pet Sounds output – from Smiley Smile (1967) to Holland (1973). We were originally planning on titling this volume “Feel Flows,” until the Beach Boys themselves decided it was time to revisit this hallowed era of their discography with a box set of the same name.

All proceeds from this release will go to Elm Street Produce, a community-funded, Lodi-based collective providing food security and education to people in the San Joaquin Valley.

“Beach Boys Club Vol. 1: Don’t Worry, Baby – Covers From the Pre-Pet Sounds Era” features 41 renditions from the Beach Boys’ output through “Beach Boys Party,” lovingly crafted by musicians across Chicago, Sacramento, and beyond.

From the spoken-word mini-memoir “Be True With Your School (A Reminiscence),” to the wordless vocal, synth and drum machine groove of “Barbara Ann,” to the guitar instrumental reinterpretation of “Girl Don’t Tell Me” (one of four versions!), it’s safe to say that this compilation pays reverence to the Boys’ golden songbook while completely deconstructing it.
